Yes, he’s ELVIS the king of  ‘ rock and roll ” . I’m sure all of you know who Elvis is. He was an American Singer and Actor and  the greatest icon of the twentieth century. He was born in Mississipi on 08 January 1935 and later moved to Memphis Tennessee. He started his singing career in 1954 with Sun records label and his career took off in 1956 and after that there was no turning back for him.

Besides having a great voice, he was extremely good looking , extremely charming and had a great sense of style and showmanship. He was electrifying on stage and girls just went crazy over his performances. He had a huge female fan following. Some of his famous songs were Jail House rock, Suspicious minds, can’t help falling in love, always on my mind and many more. He acted in several movies as well like Jail house rock, Love me tender, Blue Hawaii and many more. He received fourteen Grammy nominations winning three . He also received the Grammy Lifetime achievment award at the age of thirty six.

He had a very close relationship with his mother and he was devastated after her death. He married Priscilla  on May 1 1967  in Las Vegas and they had a daughter Lisa Marie on February 1 1968. They later seperated.  Prescription drugs destroyed his health and ruined his career. He finally passed away  at his home  in Graceland in Memphis on August 16 1977. He was known for his talent, style, humility and generosity.

  1. Ah, I can’t get enough of Elvis. Whenever I think of him, I feel sad. So much talent but at the same time so much unhappiness and drugs. I sometimes wish that he were alive. The original king of Pop is He.
