Mauritius

‘ M ‘ reminds me of my Honeymoon trip to Mauritius and  I decided to do a pictorial post on the place today after the previous wordy posts. I was excited  as it was my first trip abroad. Mauritius is a beautiful Island off the south east coast of the African continent.  It has a mix of French, Indian, African and chinese immigrants.  The culture and food  here is fascinating and unique. The climate is normally hot and humid. The place is defined by beauty and it’s  very scenic.  It has plenty of beautiful resorts with a good view of the beach.

We  stayed at  the Casuarina resort which is a nice and relaxing place to stay

Casuarina Resort had some good entertainment to offer to the guests. The belly dancers  performed live in the evenings  and we were entertained by their hip shaking movments and the live music. My hubby seemed to be the happiest 😉

There are several places to visit here. Curepipe is one of them. There’s a unique extinct volcano, Trou aux Cerfs. The crate is 85 meters deep and 200 meters wide.

Chamarel is another great place to visit. You can visit the splendid Chamarel falls and the  magnificent coloured earth.

The sand has seven different colours  created by volcanic rocks cooled at different temperatures. You can actually see the seven different shades in the photograph below

We went deep into the sea in a boat and got to see the multi -coloured fishes and corals through the glass surface, placed at the bottom of the boat. The water was clear and aqua blue.  We had a good view of the life under sea. It was splendid.

These are the Giant Turtles in Chamarel. Some of them  are atleast one hundred years old. They are really huge !

We visited a factory where they built ship models made of wood. They are real masterpieces. You can observe the work of the craftsmen in the photograph below

Here’s a pic of me  indulging in some of the water sports

We visited Grand Bay, a shopping paradise and port Louis the commercial capital of Mauritius.  Mauritius is a good destination for married couples.  I’ll recommend my readers to surely visit  and devour the beauty of the place. Have lots of fun. Cheerz ;).
